Artist Statement

Mia’s work deals with the subconscious through a “modern Surrealist” approach, using symbolism to explore the subconscious. Some call her work “fantasy realism”. Using distortion of characters and fantastical elements, Mia provides the viewer with an imaginary world. Her art is full of symbolism. She often uses both modern technology and nature in juxtaposition. Her work illustrates the cycle of life and strives to give the viewer a psychological, subconscious atmosphere that includes both beauty and absurdity, and philosophical views about consciousness, using these elements as artistic alchemy, with a touch of mystery.
